My Services
Initial Consultation
This meeting is for you to ask any questions about my services, philosophy and experience. Your birth is a very intimate and vulnerable time so it is essential that you and your partner feel comfortable with me as a person and the services I offer.
Prenatal Visits
I would like to arrange two prenatal visits to discuss your options and develop a birth plan. We can also discuss any concerns either of you are feeling about the pregnancy and birth. At this time I can give you more information about some comfort techniques I offer. I am also available for unlimited phone or email support during the pregnancy and the first month postpartum for any concerns you or your partner have.
Labour and Birth
I will be on call 2 weeks before your due date and 2 weeks after to provide continuous labour support day or night. I can join you whenever you feel you need me at home or at the hospital. I can aid with positioning, breathing techniques, massage, relaxation and movement for pain relief and labour progression. I will provide information and explanation of risks and benefits of interventions suggested by your nurse or doctor. I can also be an advocate for your wishes and desires for your birth.
Postpartum
I will typically stay one to two hours after baby arrives to assist you with bonding, breastfeeding, and recovery. I can also provide postpartum resources for breastfeeding support. I will come visit you in your home one to two weeks after the birth to admire the your addition, discuss your birth, and discuss any newborn care concerns you may have.
** I will also take photos or videos of the labour, birth and postpartum period, if desired.**
