About Me...
My name is Kristin Gammon and I am a new resident in Edmonton. I have a beautiful daughter who was born in September 2007 and since the birth I have been a member of Birth Choices. I keep very busy reading, playing softball and spending time with my family.
Becoming A Doula...
My journey as a doula began when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was suddenly intrigued by pregnancy, labour, and birth. I thought this fascination would pass after my daughter arrived, but it only intensified. After the wonderful birth of my little girl, I realized just how much that one day affected me. Before I had given birth I was under the impression that we left our experiences at the hospital. But once I started talking to women, I realized that our births stay with us, whether they were positive or negative experiences. With this realization came my calling to empower women to improve their birth experiences. I believe that through informed decision making and continuous support women can have a truly remarkable birth experience!
My Training...
I have attended a DONA approved birth doula workshop and am currently working towards certification.
